Andrew on Prayer Partners
June 30, 2007
Well, last Sunday at worship Kelly had everybody take a note card, and on that note card we were supposed to write a few troubles or problems that we wanted our special prayer partner to think about and pray for during the week.

This morning we again had the entire mission team headed to the Teen Living Program. Painting needed to be finished in the bathrooms, staircase and on the doors. We still needed to install the window in the new recording booth and touch up the music studio.
Kate & Adam W.: Teen Living Program (TLP)
June 28, 2007
Today all 22 of us went to the Teen Living Program to finish up our ongoing project of building a recording studio. While some were helping put up dry wall in the studio the other half of us started painting the 12 guest bathrooms in the shelter. It was so much fun to be all together and all put in 110%. We have such a great group and the dedication is unbelievable. Read the rest of this entry »
Today was our fun day! We got to sleep in (a good half an hour) and the adults made us a delicious breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and eggs. We then went and shopped on the Magnificent Mile before heading over to the Cubs game on the L.

Today we switched locations, and the group that worked at Franciscan Outreach Association went to Teen Living Program (TLP), and vice-versa. The group that went to TLP started and completed the stud frames for the walls. It went fairly easily but was good work and we made a lot of progress.

Grace & Brianna: On the Road to Chicago

We pulled out of the chapel lot at 8:20 a.m.; a feat near miracle considering that our group consisted of 15 teenagers, most of whom (myself included) had not gotten up before noon since school ended. Somehow we were able to fit all of our luggage and all 22 of us into one van and two suburbans.
Afterthoughts

May God bless you with DISCOMFORT!![]()
Discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships,
So that you may live deep within your heart.
May God bless you with ANGER!
Anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people,
So that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.
May God bless you with TEARS!
Tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation and war,
So that you may reach our your hand to comfort them, and to turn their pain into joy.

And may God bless you with FOOLISHNESS!
Enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world,
So that you can do what others claim cannot be done.
May God Bless you. Amen.
final day full of fun

Saturday
After a week of hard work, we are now at the beach, relaxing and reflecting. Today we will visit the colonial town called Grenada, perhaps tour the islands in Lake Nicaragua and then if the weather cooperates we will take a guided night tour of an active Volcano where it is possible to peer in and see the hot lava bubbling up.
